Kona fabric is made by Robert Kaufman Fabrics. There are so many solid colors to choose from and the quality of the fabric is unbeatable. Muslin fabric is usually a looser-weave fabric (correct me if I'm wrong, anyone!) and it comes shades of cream and white. I have bought Kona fabric in what looks like muslin (a cream color) and like it better than regular muslin because of the quality. You won't be disappointed with Kona fabric. I hope this helps. Norwich is correct about the Kona Cotton being so nice and reg. Muslin being very loosely woven and it is thin. I just discovered last month or so from the wonderful ladies here on this forum that Kona is now carrying a Kona Muslin. And that is how it is marked on the bolt. It is much much nicer than reg Muslin. Tighter weave, smooth, thicker and just a nice feel and look to it. I love it. If you have a JoAnns Fabric Store or a Hobby Lobby, look there. That is where we get it here in Okla. It also comes in Unbleached(Cream color) or Bleached(White).

Hancocks also sells it. Whenever you go into Hancocks or Joanne's, make sure you are on their mailing lists. They are constantly sending me a coupon for 40 percent off one cut of fabric. I remember buying 6 yards of Kona once at a really great savings!

Hobby Lobby has their's on sale quite a bit also.

I don't know if QIAD has it in their online store or not. Maybe you could call customer service to see if they have it. Or email them.

I appreciate all of the information you all posted here. I get really confused with fabrics.

I wonder if anyone has used the Kona muslin and hand quilted it? Sometimes if the weave is tight, I have trouble doing the quilting. I would be interested in what you think of it.
