stain

Post by quiltingangel » Wed Apr 29, 2009 12:58 pm

Hello Ladies, Does anyone know how I can get a blood stain out of fabric without having to wash the whole thing? I got a couple spots of blood on a block I was doing and I thought I saw something on the forum one time about how to get it out, but do not remember how. Thanks in advance.

Dip a q-tip in Hydrogen Peroxide and dab it on the spot. You might want a clean white handkerchief or paper towel to rub with later.

This may sound crazy but your own saliva will remove blood stains if it is your blood. When I used to hand quilt I always seemed to get a blood spot somewhere on the quilt. So I would take some thread (a bunch) wad it up in my mouth with saliva on it then rub it on the quilt where the stain was. Of coarse I did this immediately after while the blood was still wet. But as Karen said, peroxide will do the trick too. Marge
