Signature Baby quilt??
I'm going to a baby shower for a niece of mine and got to thinking this might be a good idea....But, how do I go about getting everyone to sign a block? I have a pattern in mind, snowball and 9 patch together with signatures on the snowball....This is her 1st baby and it would be a neat idea if I can pull it off.....Thanks for any help....

Why not make up the snowball blocks and iron freezer paper to the backs of them. Take some pigma pens with you. In another post in this area "How to put words on a quilt" theres a good suggestion how pigma pens.
Also, with just the blocks, if someone messes up a block, at least the quilt isn't messed up. A baby quilt would be very quick to put together after the shower especially if you already made up all the blocks before hand.

Irishgram, what a great idea!! I think if you wanted to make the quilt before the shower, you could get a list of names and addresses of all the invited people from the hostess, then mail or hand deliver the snowball blocks(with freezer paper ironed on) to each one....or...if you're going to make the quilt AFTER the shower, take the blocks to the shower for signing.
I agree with Evie, it would be risky to complete the quilt and have them sign then.
Good Luck!

I think I would make the blocks up ahead of time and have them sign at the shower. Maybe have a drawing of the quilt on hand so they can see the design.
Try googl-ing 'baby shower signature quilt' and see what you get LOL
