Unhappy with fabric
I bought online a good quality flannel panel for a baby quilt. Then, because I was pressed for time I went to Joann's to buy matching solid flannel in pastel colors to do the borders and backing. Upon everyone's recommendations, I washed it all first. Unfortunately I washed it all together. The turquoise(Joann's)bled and left a blue cast on everything, the pale green (Joann's)faded out, and the yellow (Joann's) looks dirty from the turquoise.
Any way for me to salvage this or should I just bite the bullet and order higher quality flannel on line?
Linda

I don't know Linda but I wonder if you washed ea pc seperately in the sink with a Color Catcher Sheet made by Shout if that would salvage it? I love those things! Might be worth a try.

Always wash fabrics separately to avoid color dye bleeding into other fabric. Sorry this has happened to yours. Try to salvage it first before buying more fabric. Good Luck.

Re: Unhappy with fabric
I bought a lot of flannel at JoAnn's last year, the day after Thanksgiving, as I wanted to make quillows for everyone in our family. Oh my, I was disappointed. It not only faded and shrunk, but it also wasn't as wide as regular fabric, so I didn't have enough fabric bought. I ended up having to resize the quillows. It worked out, but I will leave the flannel alone at JoAnn's. (The red flannel was really bad about fading. I ended up soaking it in vinegar to set the die.) I would try the color catchers. Hope this works for you.

I'd wash the whole thing using warm water, bleach and detergent. Can't hurt it anymore and at least it will get the dullness out.

I agree with Cathy, try the Color Catchers. They are great.
