Need ideas for a "grandma" quilt

Post by CaroleJ » Thu Oct 09, 2008 3:00 am

Hey y'all, does anyone have any ideas for a "congratulations grandma" quilt? My boss is going to be a grandma shortly and I am thinking about making her a small something, a wall quilt, as a giftie. It will be a challenge because she is a "hip mama", not anything like the usual image of a grandmother...

Aren't there fabric panels with quotations on them out there? I'll have to do some hunting around.

Check bugfabric.com. They have lots of panels. Hopefully you can find something there.

UPDATE!!! Found exactly what I wanted, a fabric panel printed with different quotations about grandmas and grandchildren. It's from Block Party Studios.

I have a "Things Quilters Really Think" panel that I bought from Keepsake Quilting a few years ago, but there was no manufacturer on the fabric. I *love* Google!

Now to ask co-workers about Da Boss's color preferences and wait for the panel to arrive in the mail so the quilt can be designed!

Wow, the panel from Block Party Studios arrived yesterday, and I ordered it on-line on THURSDAY! Excellent customer service!

It is really cute; I am going to bring it to work today to show some of the gals. I think this would make a fun gift for our boss!
