Vera Bradly style purse pattern

Post by balsamsue » Fri Aug 08, 2008 1:59 am

Hi~
Now, I'd like to find a Vera Bradley style purse pattern., ideally a free one on line. Some of you helped me find an octagonal table topper pattern, so I'll send out this appeal here now. Thanks for any help offered..

I second Quilterbee. Amy Bradley has wonderful patterns. In fact I am going to order one of her purse patterns and maybe a hat pattern. Have to keep the sun off my face.

Amy Butler, not Amy Bradley. Amy Butler designs the bags, Amy Bradley designs cute quilts. Amy Butler's patterns are chic. Amie

I don't know what size you are talking about, but last year our guild did a workshop on one that was printed in Fons and Porter. I have had several of the Vera bags called Villager, I think, and it looks just like it. You can probably do a Goggle search for the Fons and Porter bag. If not, I have a copy of it scanned to my computer so maybe I can find a website or the magazine issue.

There is a shop here in Cincinnati that sells patterns for and has classes for a "Very Badly" wanted bag. There are patterns for purses and backpacks in different sizes.

They are not free, but you might want to check the web site.
It is Best Friends Quilt Shoppe.

any bag you make using double side quilted fabric will look like Vera bag. Heck I made a nice bag for my mom and when she used it lots of people said 'is that a vera bag?' HE HE my mom said 'no it is a kathy bag!'
