Yellow brick road pattern

Post by grammiequilts » Thu Jul 03, 2008 10:14 am

I was reading somewhere that someone wanted the pattern for Yellow Brick Road In my stash I found it in 6 different sizes. I will fax a copy to whomever if you still need it. It was a copy someone gave to me. PM me and give me your fax number and I will send it or your mailing address which ever you want.

Isn't this pattern copyrighted? If so, you're not supposed to make copies of it. You're supposed to BUY your own copy. LOL

this pattern i have was not a copyright it was hand written with a black and white drawing copied to it . My guild has been using this for charity quilts I am not sure if it came out of a magazine but there are no copyrights on it anywhere. Mag patterns can be copied they just cannot be sold. thanks for the heads up though

Magazine patterns cannot be copied. That's what the copyright in the front of the magazine means. The magazine can be loaned out to someone else, just like the original pattern can be. It sounds like someone took the original pattern & hand copied it to use at the guild. If it's the same pattern, then it's copyrighted whether it says copyrighted on it or not. And that's with little changes made to it by whoever copied it.

Here's a link with more info on it:

I just had this discussion with my guild last week. They just kept on copying stuff out of Eleanor's books, magazines, etc. And, even after it was brought to their attention, they finished copying the "last block" in that quilt for everyone.
