Need Help With I Spy Quilt
I am planning on making an I Spy Quilt for my 13 year old niece for Christmas and I am not sure what size of to cut my individual squares. The prints are small to medium sized and I plan on either adding a list of things to find by embroiderying items in the outer border or making a small book out of fabric to attach to it. since she is a teenager I don't want to make it too easy but I still want to make it interesting for her.
I have never made this type of quilt and I need guidance from someone who has more experience with this design.

DJ is hosting an "I SPY" swap in the swap section. She has some outlines for all to follow. You might check there and see if you would like to follow her instructions. A picture of her I SPY quilt is posted there also.
Have Fun,

You could do Attic Windows, Jars or Churn Dash. You might get ideas from these websites:

Hi
I made an eye spy quilt for my 3 year old grandaughter. Here are some pictures of it.

It isn't hard to make.

Vicki, your quilt is wonderful. It must have taken some time to gather all the "spy" pieces.

Hi Sunsup,
It's funny because someone just mentioned visiting Mary Jo's and that is where I decided to do an eye spy for DGD. I bought a bunch there and looked through my stash, but as I told Sewsew in a pm this quilt is also called "Beg or Borrow" too, and I begged off of my quilt guild and they came through great! Everyone who gave me fabric got some of my handmade soap as a gift. My little granddaughter Megan is a fabricholic (like me) so she loves it. Her favorite thing is to roll up in my fabric when I bring it home from the store.
