Teacher Fabric

Post by maryq » Thu Nov 01, 2007 1:27 pm

Ok, so I had another "brilliant" (lol) idea this morning.

Just what I need, another project for Christmas.

Thought I'd make my kids, in-law kids and grand kids stocking.

#1 Son--Camo and blaze orange since he's deer hunter
his wife--Strawberry Shortcake (fabric on hand)
Grandson--Thomas Train (found fabric at Walmart)
Granddaughter--?????

#2. DD teacher fabric
her BF...???

#3 Son #2 Golf (what else)
DIL Fabric left over from the quilt I'm making for her

NOW the problem is... finding teacher fabric LQS had none

Also for her BF.... He's musim, tho I don't think he really gets into Christmas like we do, but he should have a stocking anyway. He's a financial consultant--so what do I use for him???

HELP!!

Maryq, check out www.equilter.com, they have all types of quilters fabrics in different designs. I have purchased from them before and I checked out their site and found some school/teacher fabrics. Their fabric is divided into themes so it is easy to find what you are looking for. Hope this helps.

Money fabric! If you can find it!

Evies right. . . . .dollars or coins fabric. He'll love it if he is a financial person.

Mary have you seen the blue and yellow log cabin quilt yet. You're gonna love it!

Thanks Ann

There sure is some cute stuff there!! One minute I'm all decided what to do then the next I change my mind and go back to the idea of just making them all stockings with Christmas Prints. I think I'll sleep on it. But if nothing else, I know now where I can get cute teacher fabric in case I want to make her a tote bag!!

Thanks everybody

Mary,my local Joann's has a nice fabric with money, bills, all over it. I made a pillow case for a friend out of it. The colors are not Christmas but would make a nice stocking. Carol

There is fabric for teachers with globes, pencils, books, math books, etc. There are also fabrics for money bills, computers, things that he would be using. Have fun. These novelty fabrics are alot of fun to use. They seem to go quickly.

As a former high school teacher, we got very few gifts...:HA However, I believe any bright holiday fabric would please her. If you don't find the fabric you want, find things you can embellish the front with, depicting things dealing with education.

The Fairy Frost fabric would be awesome!
