Florescent Colors

Post by jtyree » Tue Sep 25, 2007 3:34 pm

I am looking for florescent colors to use in a quilt for my granddaughter. She and I have looked at so many shops, but not much luck. Anyone have any information?

I haven't seen any lately. They seem to go through phases where there everywhere and then no where. I'll keep a look out for you. Have you tried looking online? I just finished a kitty quilt with bright colors that were kinda of florescent.

I'm new to quilting. I'm using fabric from wal-mart that is kinda bright. But I saw a quilt once where fabric was bright and the quilting was done with neon thread. It really made it pop. I hope that you can find what you need.

I think I have enough florescent fabric, or at least bright fabric.
Adina likes it and helped me pick it. She decided on polka dot material for the back. This is a quilt as you go, in 12" blocks, so I now have a collection of approximately 16 different pokla dot fabrics. I can't wait to get started. It will be a fun quilt to make.

Have you checked out the Marble fabric from Moda? I am doing a pieced border using a blue, orange, yellow and green. It is really bright.

FYI, I saw some super bright thread at JoAnnes. When you are ready to quilt, maybe you'd like some of that?

I made a radiant star with very bright fabrics and used black for the background. i have dimmer switches on all my light switches and when you adjust the light the quilt appears to glow...truely awesome

Have you tried checking out the Fairy Frost fabrics? They can be soft and subtle, or bright and in-your-face, depending on the colors you pick. Cindy
