OK, I'm going to tackle this and get it done. Thank you all so much for the ideas. I'll do the orange then maybe something will "talk" to me. It is going to be approximately 40 or 41 square when done (unless I get carried away with the borders!!!

Susannon - bright colors look so good on a black background. You might audition that, too.

Oasis, what a bright lovely quilt that is going to be!!

A friend of mine did brights on a black background and it turned out Beautiful!!! Actually she used lots of different blacks for the backgrounds. It is really a show stopper!

IMHO, brights need white or black as backgrounds. Cream colored fabric tends to mellow out the colors. Personally, black is my favorite with brights. It makes them jump out.
