I grew up in San Bernardino. Boy is that place hot and dry. We used to go to Lake Arrow Head and Lytle Creek (I think that's how you spell it.) to cool off during the summer time. We used to put bottles of root beer and a big watermelon in the creek because the water was icy cold.
I haven't lived in Southern California for over 30 years. And it's been 12 years since our last visit. One of my brothers used to live in San Marcos. Too bad QIAD wasn't there then!
We also would picnic in Morengo Valley.

The camp at Julian was great. Got to quilt at the same table as Nadine2007. I heard you were getting a lot of El's scraps. The camp is something that every quilter should try to go to. We even go to visit Eleanor's house. What a gracious person she is.
