UGRR 6" blocks Wall Hanging

Post by Joannequilts » Wed Mar 31, 2010 2:14 pm

I did this wall hanging last year...the 6" blocks were a challenge..but I liked them! I put the name of the block above it with my sewing machine..

Naming the blocks, that's a great plan..I have a basic Bernina Embroidery machine, always looking for ideas on what to print, now thats beautiful.

Years from now, I mean lika years from now, my memory will escape when people ask "What is the name of this block?" It is written, no need to show them my lack of memory..

Thanks.

Thank you all! I have to tell you all that the blue border around each block was done because the blocks didn't all come out the same size! No one has ever noticed that and it hung in the log cabin at the antique machinery show for 4 days so it got alot of inspection!
That was the main reason for putting the names on each block, so people would know what they were called...

VERY nice! I did the mini's too, though only 6 of them for a framed wall hanging for my friend's birthday last December. (Her roots go to slavery and I made her cry with my gift.) It's a powerful quilt. You did such a nice job!!
